Calls on wealthy Nigerians to assist government in job creation

The Senator representing Kwara Central Senatorial District, Ibrahim Yahaya Oloriegbe has called on well meaning Nigerians to ensure youths are gainfully employed as a way of assisting government.
Oloriegbe who made the call while featuring on a programme by the Correspondents’ Chapel of NUJ Kwara State Council, “News Keg” in Ilorin called on wealthy Nigerian to seek ways of assisting in youths empowerment as a way of making them self reliant.
The Senator also advised youths to seek alternative ways of engaging themselves adding, as he puts it, “The Federal Government cannot employ everyone therefore Youths need to think outside the box and seek other forms of employment.
The Senator who is also the Chairman Senate Committee on Health also called for the review of the procurement process in Nigeria to ensure speedy implementation of the nation’s budget.
He advocated for reduction in the numbers of agencies involve in the procurement process calling for transparency and accountability on the part of Nigerians to ensure speedy execution of projects.
Dr Oloriegbe alleged that the procurement system as set up is being used as bottle neck in the implementation of the budget.
He however absolved the executives of blames on the cause of frustration on the citizens over delay in budget implementation, suggesting that the no objection process adopted as a result of COVID-19 pandemic should be applicable on all projects.
