The Bank of England has announced that the old paper £10 notes (Ten British Pounds), will no longer be accepted as legal tender.
This notice was passed down to banks in Nigeria and which these banks subsequently passed to their various customers in Nigeria.
In a statement made available to NATIONAL NEWSBEAM, the statement read “We wish to draw your attention to the announcement by The Bank of England that the old paper £10 notes (Ten British Pounds), will no longer be accepted as legal tender. We, therefore, advise that you deposit these old paper notes in your possession into your Domiciliary account at any of our business offices, on or before Wednesday, 28th February 2018.”
With this notice, the said Ten Pounds note will no longer be acceptable as a legal tender after 28th February, 2018.
