An estranged wife, Mrs Awokiyesi Folasade, on Tuesday asked an Ado-Ekiti Customary Court to dissolve 11-year-old marriage between her and her husband, Henry
According to informed sources the petitioner seeks dissolution on the grounds of lack of care and no more love.
The petitioner, Mrs Awokiyesi Folasade, 38, a teacher and a resident of No,4, Ile ileri Quarters Adehun street, Ado-Ekiti, told the court that the respondent only contracted traditional marriage with her.
She said the respondent paid N10,000 as her dowry but the money was returned to him and she gave birth to two children for him.
Folasade told the court that the respondent often stay in Port harcourt where he was working and would not bother to check on her welfare in Ado-Ekiti.
She told the court that the respondent has deserted her for years and she does not wish to continue with the relationship because she does not love him anymore.
The mother of two said the respondent took her two children and award their custody to his parents and they are been taken care of.
Folasade,however prayed to the court to dissolve her marriage with the respondent in order to enable her get married to another man who cares for her.
The respondent, Mr Awokiyesi Henry, a Civil engineer, refused to honour the summon of the court to defend himself.
The President of the court, Mr Joseph Ogunsemi, after hearing the petitioner’s testimony, adjourned the case to March,27, for judgement.
