We Need More Matured Way Of Playing Politics In Nigeria – Adeyemi Balogun

A Nigerian Engineer based in the United States, Engineer Nurudeen Adeyemi Balogun has called for a more matured approach to playing politics in Nigeria.

Balogun said that the work of political office holders should speak for them rather than series of propaganda based adverts that filter the air around us.

The Engineer who was speaking at a Pan Igbomina Forum tagged “Kwara South Enact Get Together/Parley” said critics of Government need not be attacked if Government had done the needful.

Reacting to the attacks in some quarters on the Minister for Women Affairs, Sen. Aisha  Alhassan for publicly denouncing President Buhari and supporting another candidate, Adeyemi Balogun said that such criticisms are not necessarily adding that in a good political set up good governance should be the priority and not individuals or party.

He said that for Nigeria to move forward, it is high time we get more mature in the way we play politics adding that Nigeria is blessed with great potentials, human capital, and intellectuals as well as natural resources adding that what we need is appropriate harnessing of these resources towards national development.

The Engineer added that only constructive criticism can move our nation forward into its rightful place in the comity of nations.

The Essie, Kwara State born Engineer who admonished others who are well to do in the society and in Diaspora to come back home and develop their communities stressing that no man is ever made without one or two supports from the communities which implies that coming back to rebuild is a pay back to the communities “to who much is given, much is expected”, he concluded.

Also speaking at the forum is a factional chairman of People’s Democratic Party in Kwara State, Barrister Iyiola Oyedepo Akogun who noted that things were better in the past for Nigerians than what it is now.

Akogun said that it is a bad omen for people to see their pasts as been better because as the days pass by, it is expected that things get better and not worse adding that the President Muhammadu Buhari led APC government cannot claim that it is working till the efforts translates to good livelihood for the people of Nigeria.

Notable dignitaries at the programme include Chief Rex Bello, former PDP Publicity Secretary, Chief Awotunde, CEO PEAK Motel and a host of others.
