Unlawful Possession Of Fire Arms: 5 suspects Docked In Ilorin

An Ilorin Magistrate Court on Thursday arraigned five suspects over alleged unlawful possession of firearms.

The accused persons are Saheed Saka, Toyin Ayeni, Ayodeji Tolufashe, Yusuf Saadu and Tiamiyu Wale.

The Prosecutor, Insp. Zacheaus Funsho told the court that the accused persons were arrested with two live cartridges on Sept. 10 at Fate Area Ilorin.

Funsho said that investigation conducted revealed that the accused persons were the notorious gang of thieves terrorizing innocent persons within Fate Area of Ilorin.

The accused persons were standing trial on a three-count charge of criminal conspiracy, belonging to the gang of thieves and unlawful possession of ammunition.

According to prosecutor, the offences were contrary to sections 97, 306 and 28 of Penal Code Law.

The accused persons pleaded not guilty to the alleged offences leveled against them.

The prosecutor left the bail of the accused persons to the discretion of the court.

Magistrate Abdulraheem Bello granted the suspects bail in the sum of N50, 000 and two sureties in like sum.

 

He later adjourned the case till Oct. 26 for further mention.
