Trade Empowerment: How Saraki Empowered 100 Women In Kwara With N20m Grant

About100 women in Kwara state has benefitted from an empowerment programme by Senator Bukola Saraki in furtherance of his empowerment scheme.

The beneficiaries drawn from across the 16 Local Government Areas of the state, received N200,000 each.

Presenting the cash gift in Ilorin Thursday, the Director General, ABS Mandate Constituency Office, Alhaji Musa Abdullahi, said it was in continuation of Saraki’s kind gesture to the female folk and to appreciate their continued support in his political pursuit.

He stated that the fund was meant to promote beneficiarys businesses, declaring that it was not a revolving loan.

He urged the beneficiaries to utilise the fund for the purpose it was meant for and avoid using it for frivolities.

Abdullahi admonished those who were yet to benefit from the empowerment scheme to exercise patience, promising that it would soon be their turn.

“As part of his usual kind gesture, the Senate President has directed me to distribute N20 million to 100 women to enhance their business activities. I want you to know that this cash gift is in continuation the Senate President’s empowerment scheme; it is not a revolving loan.

“I have good news for those who are yet to receive. They should exercise patience because it will soon be their turn. We will continue to do this to show that we will not and don’t even intend to abandon them”, Abdullahi said.

The state Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) woman leader, Hajia Ramat Oganija, who corroborated the ABS DG, said the fund disbursement will be in phases, informing that other lists were already being compiled for the next phase.

Hajia Oganija cautioned the women in the state not to be swayed by the antics of the opposition elements, who she added, were bereft of ideas for good governance.
