Second Term: Ilorin West APC stakeholders endorse Gov AbdulRazaq, prays for his success

Stakeholders in All Progressives Congress, APC in Ilorin West Local Government area has expressed unanimous decision to endorse Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq for second term in office based on what the call his unprecedented level of achievement in the last two years.

The stakeholders who spoke with a group of journalists at the sideline of a special prayer and thanksgiving organized in honour of the Governor spoke differently but united in the opinions expressed on the performance of Governor AbdulRazaq and the need for him to be given second term to consolidate on the achievements recorded so far in the last two years.

The Special prayer session was conducted by the Chief Imam of Ilorin fedelelatul Sheik Mohammed bashir Solihu, oon, in his lead sermon said that the governor has proven his mettle among his subjects and pray for his health, wisdom and the ability to paddle the canoe of the state to a safe harbor.

A former member of the Kwara House of Assembly, Hon. Salihu Bamidele Aluko who stated that he could see a difference between the previous administration and the incumbent administration adding that the difference is very clear.

Aluko, who is also presently a board member with the National Broadcasting Commission, NBC said that he is one of the organizers of the special prayer and thanksgiving programme as a stakeholder who had seen the performance of the governor and wished him well.

He said that as a member of the ‘Otoge movement that brought in Governor AbdulRazaq, he is happy to see the level of his achievements within two years, considering the fact that he is relatively new in power, learning new things, meeting people, yet he is able to go so far.

He said that two years is not enough to adjudge a governments’ performance adding that there is room for improvement and his reason for the second term wish for the governor.

Speaking about the noticeable difference in the legislative system and welfare, Aluko said that the legislature is a continuum and that as far as he is concerned, the legislature has been cooperating with the executives, like it was in his own time and that is the essence of democracy.

In his submission, a former aide to late Governor Mohammed Alabi Lawal, now Commissioner at the national Population Commission, NPC, AbdulRazaq Gidado, prayed for Governor AbdulRazaq’s success in his administration adding that all stakeholders had come to give thanks to all mighty Allah for seeing the state through the journey from Otogee to the present stage.

Gidado who said that despite the paucity of funds, Governor AbdulRazaq is still able to achieve all he did within two years.

He said that the past regimes in power bastardized almost everything including the education sector stressing that the debt owed UBEC which caused a row between them and Kwara state has been resolved, fully paid by this regime and relationship restored.

He also sought and prayed that Almighty Allah grant him the grace for second term so that he can consolidate on his achievements.

In his own submission, the house leader, Hon Olawoyin Mogaji said that the mood of the people in rejoicing over their experience in good governance is what motivated the stakeholders to organize the special prayer session to thank God and as well pray for the governors second term in office.

Mogaji said that Governor AbdulRazaq has torched almost all spheres of life in the state from Agriculture, infrastructure, education, economy and all other areas that are essential to humanity adding that with the level of work done in the state, Governor AbdulRazaq deserves a second term and would not let down the people of the state.
