A man who had been pretending as being mentally derailed was discovered and accosted by people last weekend along the road adjoining to the state Ministry of Environment and Forestry, Ahmadu Bello Way in the vicinity of Police Headquarters in Ilorin
According to eye-witness report, the situation turned chaotic when people suspected the stranger in the environment and accosted him. The witness said “They started when some people reached him, they found on him a cheque of a bank, N100m, four Automated Teller Machine ATM, cards, Infinix Hot 5 phone, his pictures with top politicians in Nigeria; male and female condoms; and valium injections.
The irate mob beat him up and attempted to lynch him but he was later rescued.
But Police Public Relations Officer, Kwara State command, Mr. Ajayi Okasanmi said he was not aware of the incident. He added that people were only posting such insinuation on the social media.
He said, “I am not aware of it. I cannot also confirm. People were just posting things on the social media.”
