Prepare For Necessary, Appropriate Change, Abdulrazaq Tells Kwarans

*Condoles With Olofa, Offa People Over Robbery Mayhem

A former Kwara Central Senatorial candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party in the 2015 general election, Alhaji Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq has urged Kwara State residents to get ready for a necessary and appropriate change.

He urged the residents to register and get their permanent voter cards, adding that they should vote out the All Progressives Congress-led state government.

He said,  “Kwara State should be prepared for the necessary and appropriate change. They should go and register, make sure that you are ready to vote and vote out the government in power now.”

Abdulrazaq, who is also a former Kwara State governorship aspirant, condoled with the Olofa of Offa, Oba Mufutau Gbadamosi and the people of Offa over the recent robbery attacks on about five banks in the ancient community.

He said, “I am here to pay a condolence visit to the people of Offa. I obviously met with the Kabiyesi and greeted him. Offa has bounced back. They are resilience people as they say. They are strong people. We also want to give them all the support we can. Indeed it is very important for other well-meaning individuals and groups to come to their aide.

“They have planned N400m project to build a police barrack and locating the police station. So I call on all well-meaning Nigerians to come to the aide of Offa in developing the laudable project they have embarked upon.

“Offa was obviously ambushed. It is not what they prepared for. We have been in the society and we have seen that FG has assisted by putting more mobile police brigade here. That consists of about 102 personnel. We understand that state government has ordered some vehicles for patrol. That is yet to be seen but we have seen the police on the ground from the federal government.”

The politicians-cum oil magnate also pleaded with the federal government to adopt proactive and pragmatic strategies to address the recurring wanton killings of people in the country.

He called for dialogue between the herders and farmers, adding that the matter should be well and holistically address to engender national growth.

The astute politician lamented the breakdown of security in the country.

He said, “Those (farmers/herders clashes) are political issues to be negotiated between communities. We are all picking up arms against each other. It should not be war, war, we should jaw jaw. It is about talking and negotiating. The government should look into the issues of  the herdsmen carefully by speaking to all sides and coming to get a solution.”
