Popular Afro Hip Hop Maestro, Lawal Olalekan Olumoh has explained reasons for disappearing from the music scene for a while during which he was on self styled exile.
The artiste who is popularly known as Konga in the industry will be explaining his absence without official leave in a new album tittled AWOL.
Konga, who did the popular hit track ‘Lorile, Odi gombe’ in collaboration with another artiste, X-Project in 2009/2010, narrated his harrowing experience and that of other artistes in the hands of pyrates who copy and sold all his works, milking on him without making personal gains.
He further explained how talented artistes have been sent to unexpected indebtedness which arise from losses incurred after investing borrowed funds to undertake Original works of arts only to be pirated freely by criminals who mass produce and sell what doesn’t belong to them.
The Ilorin born artist will be launching his new AWOL in Ilorin kwara state in big way very soon to capture his home fans and audience which he said have been wonderful over the years.
Olalekan Olumoh, Konga will be partnering media houses across Nigeria comprising Radio, Television as well as the prints.
He also explained seeking partnership and sponsorship from Kwara state government adding that his work seeks to promote the good work that Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq is doing in the state.
He said: “I came home after a long while and discovered that Governor AbdulRazaq has been doing tremendously well and I want our fans in Lagos and elsewhere to see what Ilorin and Kwara by extension has become.”
Konga added that his album, AWOL will be launched in other places like Lagos, Ibadan, Abuja and Ekiti State but reiterated that Ilorin will be the first place of call because charity begins at home.
Konga master made his debut in music industry in 2003 when he did Baby Konga, in 2008, he reased Kaba Kaba featuring DaGrin and remi Aluko with his last Lorile in 2009.
The brilliant artiste said he has come back and will remain in the industry, no where else to go because music his his chosen vocation and calling. Asked what he was doing during his exile away from the music industry and Nigeria, the Idiape born artiste explained that he had other vocations that fetched him some incomes outside Nigeria but reiterated that his career is not negotiable.
