The All Progressives Congress (APC) flag bearer in the forthcoming gubernatorial election in Edo State, Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu, was said to have been suspended from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP)  on account of fraud prior to his exit from their party.

An inside source from the PDP caucus said that when it was obvious he would not win the ticket he started making overtuous at APC.

The source further revealed to journalists in Benin City: “Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu was already a suspended member of the PDP before he attempted to join the APC.

“There were campaign and other funds that the party gave to him for publicity which he could not account for. The party gave him time to account for the money but he couldn’t.

“We received several protest letters and series of complaints from party members and service providers about unpaid bills against Ize-Iyamu, even when we had proof that he was given the money to pay such bills.”

The source added: “The party had to suspend him when it became clear that he was not ready to face the party officials and account for the funds.”

He stressed that “Ize-Iyamu cannot be trusted with money. We are aware of his N700 million fraud case currently before a Federal High Court in Benin City.  He will never change. Edo people should not waste their votes on him. Governor Godwin Obaseki has the integrity that we need in a leader and we need to give him our votes to sustain the progress we have recorded in all sectors of the state.
