The Ekiti State Chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party has accused the governorship candidate of the All progressive Congress, Dr Kayode Fayemi of invading the state with men of the Federal Special Police from Lagos to arrest some chieftains of PDP with frame-up charges.
The arm to the teeth police in two vans arrived the state during the week parading nooks and cranny of Oye local government areas to arrest the council Chairman, Hon Sunday Alonge and the PDP chairman of the local government, Mr Ojo Sunday with an order to ‘silence’ them.
This was contained in a statement by the Ekiti state publicity secretary of PDP, Mr Jackson Adebayo made available to journalists in Ado Ekiti.
The party explained that Dr Fayemi of the APC had gone to the Federal SARS in Lagos to frame up the duo that they destroyed his billboards as well as threatening to deal with him after his thugs wantonly destroyed all PDP billboards and posters after seen the mammoth crowd that welcomed the PDP candidate, professor Kolapo Olusola Eleka and his running mate in the local government.
PDP added that Fayemi and his party members became jittery and devastated seen the overwhelming popularity of PDP in his local government areas where he was defeated four years ago, hence his resolve to silence some PDP chieftains who he perceived would be mobilising to ensure he fails again.
Adebayo said the two white hilux full of men of federal special anti robbery squad have started the manhunt for Hon Sunday Alonge and Mr Ojo Sunday since Tuesday while harassing other members of PDP shown them by Dr Fayemi’s agents who follow them around.
‘It would be recalled that we’ve raised this alarm recently that out of desperation, the APC candidate will result to brigandage, blackmail and violence immediately he sees failure taunting him in the coming election’ Adebayo maintained.
The PDP spokesman advised the police especially those that might have been contacted by Dr Kayode Fayemi to always do wary of any report he and his party may be churning to them because he and his party are more comfortable with concocted lies, blackmail, propaganda and violence.
‘We want to equally say that the police should be very vigilant because APC have a culture of false accusations especially when they want to perpetrate same crimes, its APC that will raise alarm and go ahead to act the act.’
PDP however enjoin it’s members not to be panic about the devilish moves of Dr Fayemi and his party because it will crumble like a pack of cards.
