NSCDC Counsel Seeks Amendment To Charges in Own Suit

At the renewed sitting in the court of Magistrate I. A Dasuki in a suit filed by the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, NSCDC against two Pastors; Olumide Peter and Jesulayomi Adetola of Evidence of Christ Fellowship International Church, Agbo-Oba, Ilorin on charges of criminal conspiracy, unlawful assembly, wrongful confinement, putting person in fear of injury in order to commit extortion

The previous absence of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, NSCDC counsel, Barrister Ajide Kehinde, in court had caused adjournment in the matter but with the appearance of the counsel, a new twist is introduced into the suit.

The counsel to NSCDC called for speedy trial in the matter and also made an oral application for the amendment of charges before the court but the presiding Magistrate Dasuki requested a written application for the said request.

The counsel also lamented the pressures upon him from some unnamed quarter which include phone calls, text messages and verbal attacks making the litigation seem a personalized affairs, a thing he frowned at.

After reaching a consensus between counsels on both sides, the matter was however adjourned till 8th March, 2021.
