NASS Crisis: Nigerians Will Resist Illegal Impeachment – Activist

The chairman of the Citizen’s Communications and Advocacy Centre, Comrade Ben Duntoye has called on the ruling All Progressives Congress and its national working committee to immediately jettison what he described as plot to illegally and forcefully impeach the leadership of the Nigerian Senate.’’

Duntoye during a chat with newsmen un Ilorin, Kwara state warned APC and its national chairman, Adams Oshiomhole against heating up the polity.

He posited that ‘’the unbridled, inflammatory speeches of Comrade Adams Oshiomhole may gradually be sliding the country into anarchy and the citizens will be certain to resist such’’.

He condemned the spate of killings across the country and the high level of insecurity; the invasion of the National Assembly complex and the hounding of the NASS leadership.

He said that siege on the National Assembly must be thoroughly investigated and culprits brought to book.

He counseled politicians against making inflammatory statements capable of hindering the peaceful conduct of the 2019 elections.

“The Abubakar Bukola Saraki led 8th National Assembly has been the most vibrant ever and this ought to be our consideration ahead of any other partisan interest.

“The ruling party should take note that the whole world is watching, posterity with judge them harshly if they further aggravate the already negative image the country has. We ought to be a model for Africa,” he added.
