The National Association of Ogun State Students (NAOSS) says the association will on Friday, July 27, convey an emergency Congress on the proposed scrap of the Moshood Abiola University of Science and Technology (MAUSTECH).
Mr Oluwagbemileke Ogunrombi, National President of the association made this known in a statement made available to newsmen in Abuja on Sunday.
Ogunrombi noted that the upcoming Congress would avail the indigenous students of Ogun state the avenue to X-ray the survival of the MAUSTECH.
“If at this point in time the indigenous students of Ogun State fail to talk, history will never forgive us, neither will posterity judge us well.
“It is no longer news that the government of Governor Dapo Abiodun has proposed to the State House of Assembly to scrap/suspend the take-off of the Moshood Abiola University of Science And Technology, as worked out by the last administration.
” NAOSS, been the direct owner cum custodian of the Ogun state students constituency will not seat and fold our arms and watch as decisions that primarily belongs to us to be dragged to secondary stakeholders.”
Ogunrombi also appealed to groups, organisation, societies or bodies not to politicise the issue of MAUSTECH as students had been receiving daily with utmost dismay series of diverse opinions on newspapers, social media and other media.
