The National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS), has congratulated Prof. Ibrahim Gambari on his appointment as the new Chief of Staff (CoS) to President Muhammadu Buhari.
Mr Adeyemi Azeez, NANS’ National Public Relations Officer, in a statement issued on Thursday in Abuja, described Gambari’s appointment ‘as a round peg in a round hole’.
Azeez urged President Buhari to include and appoint Nigerian youths with outstanding intelligence to also contribute to the development of the country.
“NANS appeals to President Buhari to only appoint the elderly, but see reasons why the youths can serve him and Nigeria better.
“President Buhari can get good hands from the pool of intelligent, outstanding and successful Nigerian youths both within and outside the country.
“Many Nigerian youths have proved themselves to be extraordinary through their outstanding performances in various chosen careers. These youths both within and outside the country are contributing in no small measure to the development of Nigeria.
“Even more notable are successful diaspora Nigerian youths who are contributing greatly to the development of other nations.
”We believe these youths should be encouraged and be given the opportunity to contribute to the development of Nigeria when given the chance to serve their country.”
