KWHA Reiterates Support On Ridding Kwara Of Crime, Criminality

Speaker, Kwara State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Dr. Ali Ahmad has reiterated the  commitment and dedication of the House to supporting the State Police Command to achieve success in its bid to rid Kwara State of crimes and criminalities.

 

Ahmad also enjoined the police  to ensure that its officers and men operated within the ambit of law and continue to discharge their duties professionally.

 

He made the pledge while leading the Principal Officers of the House to pay a courtesy visit on the new State Commissioner of Police, Aminu Pai Saleh in his office on Tuesday to pledge the Assembly’s readiness to collaborate with the security operatives in Kwara.

 

The Speaker noted that various laws have been enacted by the House to enhance the security operatives’s performance, especially in ensuring the conviction of  individuals or groups of people who run foul of the state’s laws.

 

To this end, Ahmad tasked the commissioner not to hesitate to call on the Assembly whenever the command requires  the lawmakers’ assistance,

 

He stressed that for Kwara to remain the State of Harmony and continue to enjoy peace, every stakeholders must redouble their efforts by collaborating effectively with the security operatives to achieve a crime free society.

 

The Speaker commended  Saleh for putting criminals on their toes in the state despite his short stay in Kwara, adding that the new CP and the command’s personnel should not be deterred by some challenges they may  encounter in the course of performing their duties.

 

It would be recalled that the 8th Assembly under  Dr. Ali Ahmad had on different occasions visited the Command to give the House’s assurance to the security outfit.

 

Responding, the Commissioner of Police, Aminu Pai Saleh who expressed the Command’s delight by the visit of the House said he was overwhelmed and pledged that visit would further spur his men and officers to render selfless services to Kwarans.

 

Saleh pledged that the Command would leave no stone unturned to achieve a sane society, calling for partnership from every stakeholder in that regard.

 

He enjoined the House to look into enacting a Law that would greatly assist in curtailing cyber crimes in the state which he noted is becoming rampant just like cultism in Kwara State.

 

The Police Commissioner disclosed that the command has been putting machineries in place to create a Cyber Crimes Unit that would deal decisively in addressing the menace.
