Kwara State Government donates relief materials to vulnerable, needy

Items worth millions of Naira was on Friday distributed as part of government intervention measures towards assisting the vulnerables particularly the internally displayed persons, the physically challenged, the motherless babies and other needies in Kwara State.

Handing over the relief materials to Hajia Aroyemu Fausat, Principal of the needy school, Alh. Rufai, Director Personnel, Finance and Supply Governor’s Office, who represented the state Government, said that the items were part of government’s contribution to ameliorate and cushion the suffering of the needy and the IDPs in the state.

Ruafai equally noted that the relief items will go a long way to rekindling hopes and strengthen the capacity of the vulnerable groups in the state.

The Director therefore adviced that the two institutions should ensure that the relief items the targeted people.

For her part, the Secretary, Kwara State Emergency Management and Relief Agency, Mrs. Motunrayo Adaran emphasized the need to ensure that the relief materials get to the target needies adding that the items will not only go a long way to cushion the effect of the hardship confronting them daily but also serve as a means of improving their well being.

Adaran further advised that these modest contribution from the government will be a continuous exercise and that the materials should be judiciously utilized for the benefit of the vulnerables, physically challenged and the needy in the state.

Appreciating the gesture of government, the principal of the school for the Special Needs Hajia Aroyemu and the Director, Children’s Development Ministry of Women Affairs and Social Development, Hajia Ajoke Yusuf who also recieved the consignments on behalf of the Motherless Babies home extoled the Kwara State Governor for his contributions and commitment to the growth of the state.

She added that the Governor is not only a friend but a father and as a father, the development of your children is also ways a priority therefore prays that God continue guide and protect him so that he can take the state to the next level.

The recipients however promised to continue to support the Government considering the landmark achievements made within the last two years.

Items distributed include matrasses, blankets, mosquito nets, food items like Rice, Gari, Palm oil, Ground nut oil, Noodles and Sugar.

Others items distributed included Diapers, Detergents, Disinfectants, Toiletries, Mats and several others.
