The seeming crises brewing within the All Progressives Congress, APC, Kwara state heightens as the KwaraBalogun-Fulani led faction of on Sunday held its governorship primaries in Ilorin with a total number of 1007 delegates in attendance declares candidate to represent the party in the 2019 general elections.
However, Lai Mohammed’s faction of the party dissociate itself from the primaries alleging that it is fake and contravenes arrangement by the national working committee of the party.
In a statement made available to journalists on Sunday by Hon. Bashir Bolarinwa described the arrangement as fake, unconstitutional.
He said: “Our attention has been drawn to a ‘Sunday feast’ held at one of Dr. Bukola Saraki’s outlets in Ilorin for his followers to relax, particularly on a work free day like Sunday (today).
“It is illogical for anyone who knows, as an authentic member of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kwara State today to participate in any gathering termed APC primaries when, the outcome of the last screening exercise is yet to be out.”
“Let it be stated for the umpteenth time, that the National Working Committee (NWC) of the party has not released outcomes of the screening done for all our aspirants. The timetable for our primaries are equally not out yet.”
The statement described it as a gathering of some loyalists of Dr. Saraki in one corner of GRA, Ilorin which he said has nothing but a feast for his political supporters.
