The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP),Kebbi State chapter has scored the APC government low in areas of infrastructure development and people’s welfare.
The party also challenged Governor Abubakar Atiku Bagudu to explain how his administration utilized Paris Clubs Refund collected from the Federal Government
The main opposition party in the state questioned APC led administration pattern of the government, which the party claimed has subjected citizens to abject poverty, stressed that pensioners are dying due to the failure of government to pay them their gratuity.
Chairman of the party, Alhaji Haruna Saadu who made these allegations while addressing newsmen at the party office Tuesday on the affairs of the state alleged that the APC government in the state has lost it popularity among the citizens.
Faulting APC Administration in the state, Saadu said “Its appears to us the the government is operating on the whims and caprices of caucus that contributed nothing to the development of the state. On the whole,we want to say,this is not acceptable and condemnable. Our People in the state are suffering, because this government was not legally elected and had lost its legitimate.
“Our children who had graduated from the universities and polytechnics have not been given their certificates because APC led administration refused to pay their scholarships and bursary, which they owed these institutions. In Birnin-Kebbi,the state capital, no development since 2015. Poverty,unemployment among the youths continue unabated.
” The so called anchored borrowers is a sham. It is used to deceived innocent citizens of our state. People that are suppose to hold government positions with fear of God and sincerity not deceitful. It appears that projects are done without fear of God.
“This government owing our people explanations how its spent Paris club refund what are these money spent for? Which projects did they spend the money for? Why are they not paying pensioners their entitlements ? Why must these government refused to pay scholarships and bursary of students and waste their career? A large number of our children could not collect their certificates because government owing these institutions”.
The PDP Chairman assured the people of the state that his party would dislodge APC administration in the state in 2019 general elections saying ” ourparty has what its take to govern the state and country,we shall restore unity,peace in the country”,he said.
While reacting,APC spokesman, Alhaji Sanni Dododo said” to be honest, about N7 billions has been released and paid pensioners in the state. If the PDP don’t have any thing to say,they should keep quite. They have just forgotten the N83 billions liability PDP left behind for APC. With this liability,APC government is paying worker’s salaries regularly even before 30th of each month.
“About N51 billion was actual liability out of N83 billions inherited by Governor Bagudu’s administration. They abandoned many projects including Secretariat,Polytechnic at Dakingeri among others.So, they should commend our government and criticize us constructively not this negative “.
On the student’s scholarships and infrastructure development ,Dododo said the state government had paid off all the Student’s scholarships and bursary adding that many capital projects are going on across all the local government areas in the state that improved on the existence infrastructure.
But in a swift reaction, the APC spokesman, Alhaji Sanni Dododo described PDP allegation as that of a wounded Lion who is wriggles in pains, saying ” they have just forgotten the N83 billion liability they left behind which our government inherited”.
