Speaker, Kwara State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Dr. Ali Ahmad has described the death of former state Chief Judge, Justice Saka Yusuf as a great loss to the judiciary, Ilorin Emirate and the entire state.
The Speaker, in a condolence message issued by his Special Assistant on Media, Shuaib Abdulkadir said that the contributions of the retired judge to the judiciary could not be quantified.
Ahmad noted that the legal luminary who served as the chief judge during Dr. Bukola Saraki’s administration as the state governor did not bungle the opportunity but served meritoriously and left with good legacies.
He added that as a judge, late Yusuf was well respected by lawyers for his articulate judgement delivery in all cases he handled and as an incorruptible judge.
The Speaker regretted that his service delivery to the judiciary, experience, expertise and wisdom would be missed, noting that he had been a role model to several judges and Emirate sons and daughters.
The legislator recalled that as the President of Ilorin Emirate Descendants Progressive Union, late Yusuf led with great example and left his footprints in the sands of time with outstanding achievements.
Ahmad further recalled that late Yusuf used his expertise and experience to resolve several issues which bedevilled the union’s growth and was loved by the members.
“Justice Saka’s contributions to the legal profession will be remembered, and he will sorely be missed. His great contributions to Ilorin Emirate will forever be appreciated”, he said.
The Speaker condoled the Emir of Ilorin, Alhaji Ibrahim SuluGambari for the loss and prayed that Almighty Allah (SWT) grant his soul a place amongst the righteous ones.
