INEC Receives 65, 974 New PVCs For Distribution In Kwara

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in Kwara has taken delivery of  65,974 new  Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs).

Mr Paul Atser, INEC Administrative Secretary in Kwara, who  made this known in Ilorin on Monday while receiving the new PVCs, said the cards  were for those that registered in 2017.

He said the PVCs to be distributed did not include transfers, unprinted PVCs and reported cases of missing and defaced card reprint.

“Registrants in these categories need not go to the collection centres  yet, they will be adequately informed when their  own cards are ready,” Atser said.

He also warned those  in these categories not to be tempted to register again as this would amount to double registration and an offence.

Atser, however, called on those who registered in 2017 to visit   the registration centres  across the 16 local government areas to collect their cards.

He added that all registered voters wishing to collect their PVCs should go to the registration centres themselves  as there would  not be collection by proxy.

Atser also  advised them to go with their Temporary Voter Cards (TVCs) to make the search for their PVCs  easy.

The ongoing Continuous Voters Registration exercise started nationwide on April 27, 2017.
