Group Applauds Recent Judgment On Oloffa Stool

A group in the Kwara South Senatorial District has called on indigenes of Offa to jettison their differences and imbibe unity and peaceful coexistence.

Engineer Nurudeen Adeyemi Contact Team (ENACT), a political group made the appeal in a statement signed by its Principal Officer, Nurudeen Balogun and made available to the National News Beam in Ilorin.

ENACT said that the call for tolerance was informed by the recent Supreme Court judgment dismissing a move seeking to reverse the 2016 court judgment on the Olofa’s stool.

According to the statement, the latest judgment, which affirmed the earlier ruling on the stool in favour of the incumbent Olofa, Oba Mufutau Gbadamosi is God-ordained.

The group commended Gbadamosi on the feat, while charging him to consolidate on the maturity he exhibited in handling the crisis while it lasted.

It further reiterated that the final settlement of the dispute by the Court should be a formidable opportunity to unite the people rather than causing unwarranted division.

It expressed delight that the community had continued to wax stronger in human capital and infrastructural development in spite of the challenges the legal tussle had created.

The group enjoined the aggrieved parties to sheath their swords in the interest of the people and join hands in fast-tracking the desired socio economic development for the community.

“We members of the ENACT political group wishes to use this opportunity to congratulate Oba Gbadamosi and the entire people of Offa on the latest court ruling on Olofa’s throne.

“The latest judgment indicated that destiny can never be changed and we pray for long life for our monarch and more development in the community,” it said.

The Apex Court had on July 1, 2016 ruled in favour of Alhaji Mufutau Gbadamosi from Anilelerin Ruling House as the rightful occupant of the throne.

The judgment had prompted the aggrieved Olugbense Ruling House to approach the court seeking reversal of the judgment which the court dismissed.

The court had in its dismissal of the prayers sought by the aggrieved party also awarded cost of N500, 000 against Olugbense family.
