Ghastly Accident Claims Driver, 4 Kwara Poly Students, Corper …..Sad evening At Oke Ose

The villagers and students at Oke Ose, a Suburb of Kwara  State  Polytechnic, Ilorin were thrown into mourning Thursday afternoon when a commercial vehicle, Mazda 323 conveying passengers from Kwara State Polytechnic, Ilorin were involved in a fatal accident.

According to eyewitness account, the vehicle, painted in Kwara commercial colour, Yellow and Green, a taxi cab conveying the driver, five students and a Youth Corper  headed for Oke Ose on the popular Old Jebba Road before University of ilorin Teaching Hospital, UITH had a head-on collision with a trailer at a sharp bend.

The source further stated that the said bend at Oke Ose has been notorious defying attention from the government because the road is no longer being used by travelers but for the recent diversion to it due to ongoing construction on the main road.

All passengers in the taxi reportedly died while some got their heads severed in the shattered taxi cab.

However, another report stated that only five persons including the driver died while no one could say anything about a sixth person but it is certain that vehicles plying that axis carry two passengers in front with four at the back.

Efforts to reach the Pubic Relations Officer of the Federal Road Safety Commission for his comment proved abortive as at the time of filing this report.

None of the victims of the accident is been identified other than that some were students of Kwara State Polytechnic who just finished the days examination while one of them is a fresher in ND 1 and another passenger who wore NYSC uniform.

Bodies of the dead are said to have been taken to UITH Mortuary.
