Justice Taiwo O. Taiwo of the Federal High Court, Abuja had expressed displeasure over the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC’s) deliberate efforts to frustrate the trial of the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Galaxy Transportation and Construction Services Limited, Mr Babagana Dalori.
Justice Taiwo in his ruling has ordered the EFCC to produce Dalori in person at the next court hearing on September 10.
He also questioned the anti-graft agency’s counsel as to why EFCC failed to produce the Galaxy Services CEO at the High Court sitting.
The Presiding Judge, noted that the anti-graft agency perhaps has the intent to deliberately frustrate their detainee’s speedy trial which was why it ‘hurriedly’ filed four charges against Dalori at the Upper Area Court 2 in Nyanya on Wednesday, barely 24 hours to hearing in the litigation at the Federal High Court.
However, counsel to EFCC, Maryam Aminu was represented at the Court, the lead counsel to Mr. Dalori, Joe Kyari Gadzama (SAN) and four other lawyers of the Galaxy Ltd Boss, also attended the hearing.
Gadzama, while making a case for his client, demanded that 100 million be payed as damages to Dalori for the violation of his fundamental human rights by the EFCC.
Meanwhile, Gadzama and the four other lawyers representing Dalori refused to comment on the ruling delivered by the Presiding Judge, after the hearing.
