Fayose Mocks Adeyeye, Raises Alarm Over APC Rigging Plot

Governor Ayodele Fayose of Ekiti, has mocked Prince Dayo Adeyeye who defected from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), to join All Progressive Congress (APC), saying that the ex-National scribe to PDP,  is a mere branch which had severed ties with him who is the vine, and  bound to fall off.

Fayose, Describing Adeyeye’s exit from PDP to APC as mere return to his base, reminded the former Minister of works under PDP past government that as he defeated Ex-Governor Segun Oni from PDP in 2014 he would do same to Kayode Fayemi and others in APC like Adeyeye come July 14 election.

His words: ” Adeyeye belongs to the APC abinitio, with all respect to Oni,  who defected in 2014, to join Fayemi and Adebayo, I defeated them all in a landslide. So,  Adeyeye’s defeating from PDP for APC is inconsequential. I am the vine, Adeyeye is the branch, and the Bible says when the branch falls off its vine, it will dry off.”

“I am confident of winning in a landslide.  Am first Ekiti son to be Governor twice despite many machinations against me.”

This election is between my humble self and President of Nigeria and APC, again, they would make my victory very smooth.”

“They will be the ones to celebrate me after this election, because they would have taken me through so much but I would still have defeated them. I have put Ekiti people on red alert, APC , apart from their plan and desperation to rig, they want to flood Ekiti with money. 70% of the infrastructure in this state have been done by me. The people know their leader and they will vote us. Be assured, this is just a storm in the tea cup, ” he said.

Meanwhile,  Governor Ayodele Fayose raises fresh alarm that the All Progressive Congress (APC), have allegedly perfected plans with the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to  not only  manipulate the July 14 election, but also to de-enfranchise 50% Ekiti electorates by heavily pre-loading the smart cards readers and release ballot papers to members of APC to justify the pre-load.

Briefing newsmen inside the new Governor’s office in Ado Ekiti, Ekiti State capital on Tuesday, Fayose said: “It has come to our attention that the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ekiti State has devised another sinister plot to disenfranchise thousands of eligible voters in areas considered as strongholds of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), particular where the PDP standard bearer comes from, which is Ikere-Ekiti.

” The APC is working in collaboration with some unscrupulous elements in the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to delete not less than 40 percent names from the Voter Register, using the Automated Fingerprint Identification System (AFIS) as a decoy and targeting Ado Ekiti, the State capital and Ikere Ekiti where the PDP candidate comes from.”

The APC did not stop at this; they are currently distributing fake Empowerment Forms and cash to unsuspecting electorate, using a phony organisation, with the aim of deactivating Voters Cards, thereby disenfranchising thousands of voters.”

“They are also putting pressure on INEC to use Incident Forms as alternative to the Smart Card Readers, so as to be able rig the July 14 election.”

It should be noted that the Incident Forms, being contemplated for Ekiti were  not used during the Anambra election.  The question is; what were the plans to use it in Ekiti?, ” he said.

“To heighten their game, the APC in collaboration with INEC are planning to heavily preload the Smart Card Readers and also release ballot papers to their members for ballot stuffing to justify the preload.”

“We are concerned again by APC  plan to cause violence again in the state, ahead of the election.”

“The whole world is therefore placed on alert on the desperate bid of the APC to circumvent the will of Ekiti people at all cost, not minding the danger it portends for democracy in the country.”

“I am a leading an opposition in this country, the APC is not campaigning, but they want to rig the election at all cost.”

“We are raising this alarm to save this country from major consequences in the buildup to the 2019 general elections because the planned rigging of the Ekiti State election will serve as a prelude to their planned rigging of the elections, which is capable of plunging the country into avoidable anarchy.”

“We call on the international community to in the interest of democracy in Nigeria, take interest in the Ekiti election and ensure that it is free, fair and credible.”
