We viewed with utter bewilderment a statement credited to Mr Jackson Adebayo, the PDP spokesman in Ekiti condemning Prince Adeyeye for not issuing a statement against the arrest of Ekiti Government official for corruption.
Thereafter calling for his resignation to face his Governorship ambition. This is a reckless statement from a confused mind.
The PDP as a party abhor corruption at its best, even Governor Fayose at his Presidential declaration vowed to fight corruption with much vigour if elected President.
Adeyeye is a modest person with good background in Journalism that will not just open his mouth to utter rubbish all in the name of speaking for a party. Condemning or obstructing the law enforcement agencies of carrying out their constitutional assigned responsibilities is not a veritable opposition.
If truly those officials were invited by EFCC, why did they refused to honour the invitations? Were they also covered by the immunity of the Governor. We at PAAM believe that they will be released after interrogation if their hands are clean. Why the fear? He who wants to go to equity must go with clean hands.
When Governor Fayose was busy abusing PDP leadership in his declaration speech for political lethargy, Mr Jackson did not talk. When he defiled the zoning arrangement approved by the party convention, you were busy clapping.
Now you need Adeyeye to do the Public relations job for your already bartered image. No it can’t work. You can’t blackmail and intimidate Adeyeye out of office until after the national convention of our great party in December. The national leadership of our great party values his contributions to the survival of the party. He was part of the rescue team to the problems foisted on the party by Governor Fayose for good fourteen months of Sheriff saga.
PDP is greater and larger than any individual or group. Anybody who sinned must not force others to carry the cross for him. Is the Accountant General also a PDP card carrying member? Please face for problems as a ‘Peter the Rock’ and leave Adeyeye alone.
