Ekiti July 18: Aluko Joins Guber Race

A former deputy governor of Ekiti State and chieftain of Mega Party of Nigeria (MPN) Chief Abiodun Aluko has formally joined the July 14 governorship race in the state, and promised to hit the ground running when elected.

Chief Aluko was joined by a large crowd of MPN faithful and supporters from his Ikere community and from all the 16 local government areas of the state, to the secretariat of the party in Ado Ekiti for the political rally.

Aluko, while addressing the rally said he was running on the backdrop of his 41-year experience as an administrator and government official, saying he would “hit the ground running when I am elected as governor on July 14.”

He said: “I am a retired civil servant; my wife is also a retired public servant and therefore, we know what it means to get paid your salary as and when due. I promise that salaries would be promptly paid while that will also not stop development of the state.”

He said the MPN government would not abandon workers of the state, and charged the people not to vote for “a government that has failed to take care of the people.”

While also assuring that his government would take care of the youth, Aluko warned that “a government that doesn’t take care of the youth is preparing for another Boko Haram.”

He charged members of the party to obtain their voter cards and exercise their civic responsibility of voting for MPN on July 14.

Aluko said: “We must ensure that we get our voter cards and vote out a government that is not sensitive to the plight of the masses.

You must publicise Mega Party and you must ensure you vote Mega Party on July 14.”
