A cripple whose wife gave birth to a set of twins in Ilorin has solicited financial assistance to kind hearted Nigerians for him to be able to settle the family’s hospital bill
The cripple, Moruf Saliu, said the babies were delivered at the Civil Service Clinic in Ilorin on Wednesday and were, alongside their mother, yet to be discharged as at Friday afternoon as a result of his inability to pay the bill.
According to Salihu, his wife and new born twins are yet to be discharged due to his inability to pay the N20,000 he was billed by the hospital for its services.
Saliu, a 37-year old watch repairer said he had since Wednesday been running around to get the money but his effort is yet to yield fruitful results.
He said he found it difficult to settle the bill because his wife delivered days when she just left the hospital after being admitted and treated on Blood Pressure related crisis.
The watch repairer explained that having spent about N12, 000 on the treatment the family was left with no money to pay for the delivery as neither was he making much in his business nor was his wife earning much from her job as a cleaner in a private basic school.
The cripple who said they had had five children before the twins came as an unexpected addition to the family appealed to the First Lady, Deaconess Omolewa Ahemed, the State government and public spirited individuals to assist his family.
