In his message to Christians, Dr Abidoye also congratulated President Muhamadu Buhari on his re-election into office for second term saying: “We at the Cherubim and Seraphim Movement Church Ayo Ni O hereby congratulate President Muhammadu Buhari and his Vice, Yemi Osinbajo on their re-election to govern this country for another four-year term. Equally, to the Governors-elect, Members of the National and State Assemblies.”

He commended all stakeholders in the electoral process for conducting a free, fair and credible 2019 election adding: “We thank God for a free, credible and fair election without tearing us apart but allowing the choice of the people to prevail. We believe that the citizens who have taken the time to cast their votes for your coming to power will not regret doing so.

Abidoye also congratulated Christians across the state for the Easter celebration in which the birth and resurrection of Jesus Christ is being remembered and celebrated as a landmark event in Christendom commemorating the suffering urging them not to allow the pain and sorrows of Jesus Christ on the cross to be in vain.

He said: “The resurrection of Jesus Christ is a landmark event in the history of Christendom as it is a period when Christ came to suffer and die for the salvation of mankind. We should not, however, allow the death of our Saviour to go in vain, we should shun all vices that are not to be found with anybody who expects him or herself to be part of the last call. It is in view of this that I call on all Nigerians irrespective of religion, race or tribe to eschew bitterness rancour and other things that does not foster unity as a nation. Lack of unity will not bring development.”

Speaking in the fight against corruption, the Spiritual leader who appreciated the Federal Government’s efforts toward fighting corruption, calls on the anti-corruption agencies to adopt a strategy that would cut across all arms and tiers of government, agencies and departments, with a more carefully thought-out long term institutionalized framework.

He called on all well-meaning Nigerians to partner with the Federal Government for effective results in the anti-corruption fight.

Also speaking on terror attacks and rustling of flocks, cattle, sheep and goats, by heavily armed men masquerading as cattle rearers baba Aladura lamented the spate of increase in the menace with alarming proportion in many parts of the country urging the Federal, State and Local Governments to develop a synergy to urgently and decisively combat this menace, especially now that it is practically becoming a lucrative and competitive ally to armed robbery and kidnapping in the nation.

He, therefore, called for the need to ascertain the sources of arms and ammunitions borne by these bandits as a matter of compelling urgency.

Bala Aladura of the C & S Movement also delved into issue of dwindling price of oil in the world market for which he encouraged government at all levels to, by way of policies and concrete actions, promote and provide an enabling environment for the participation of everyone in agriculture, allied industries and other local income-generating ventures to increase the economic base of the nation.

He said that this action will also go a long way in creating employment opportunities for the youths of the federation adding that government should try to reactivate the moribund industries in all regions of the country so as to provide employment for the teeming youths.

President Muhamadu Buhari

He remarked that the Church receives, with great joy the laudable steps being taken by the present administration in the area of improving the economy and enjoins the government to pursue this cause with vigour, while also charging every citizen to immediately embark on massive food production for the teeming population so as to achieve food security.

Dr Abidoye also acknowledged the efforts of the government on the employment drive by the creation of the N-power programme which he said had provided employment to some of the unemployed graduates but also enjoined the government to find a way of reducing the cost of governance, curbing financial excesses by public officers as well as blocking all sources of leakages of the national revenues

He expressed the feelings of the church as trying to recover from the effect of the massive destruction of lives and properties in the North East by Boko Haram insurgents; especially killings in Kaduna State.

The clergy therefore appealed to the President, the National Assembly and all well-meaning Nigerians to prevail on the government of Kaduna State to guide and guard the constitutional provision for freedom of worship and association enshrined in the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria and to spare the Christians in the Southern part of the state so that they can live a meaningful life.

He also made a call on Nigerians to encourage the patronage of made-in-Nigerian products as a way to stimulate local production and employment which he said will earn foreign exchange rather than depend on importation of even the simplest commodities.

The Spiritual father, while commending and identifying with the present administration on the successes so far recorded on the war against terrorism, urges the government not to relent on the tempo of the battle against terrorism also expressing his wish to see the actualization of the Federal Government’s plan to return the IDPs to their homes in the first quarter of this year,  urging the government to ensure that adequate arrangements are made for their security and rehabilitation.
