Bible Society of Nigeria: Kwara Chapter Celebrates 40 years of Existence, Came First Nationwide

The Kwara State Government has restated its commitment to promoting religious harmony to ensure even development across the State.


The Deputy Governor of the State, Elder Peter Kisira made this statement in Ilorin while receiving the Executives of the Bible Society of Nigeria, Kwara Area led by its Chairman, Reverend Jacob Olaniyi in his office on Thursday.


Elder Kisira explained that the State government would support the Society in its activities while he urged the Society not to relent in its activity of distributing the Holy Bible to win souls for the Kingdom.


He commended the successes recorded by the Society in the spread of the word of God and the gospel urging them to continue in the same vein.


Elder Kisira charged Nigerians to be peaceful to ensure the progress and development of the Nation.


‎Earlier, the Chairman of the Society, Reverend Olaniyi while recalling that the Organization has been existing in the State since forty years, highlighted the achievements of the Society which include the production, distribution and translation of the Holy Bible ‎into over twenty five Nigerian languages.


The Chairman explained that the Kwara Area won the overall best in the thirty eight Areas in the Country.


He further stated that the Society has distributed over fifty five thousand Bibles to the people in the area and was aiming to distribute over sixty thousand copies this year.
