The chances of former Vice President, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar seems brighter in his to succeed President Muhamadu Buhari and contest again the sitting President as the national leader of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu has threatened to work against incumbent President in the 2019 elections based on certain grounds bordering on making life more meaningful for Nigerians.
A source close to Asiwaju said, “Tinubu is having a serious realignment with Atiku on the possibility of pulling out with their teeming supporters if President Muhammadu Buhari continues to look the other way.”
Strong support for Asiwaju Bola Tinubu’s call for restructuring came from across the geopolitical divide, yesterday, with friends and foes saying his endorsement for power shift from the federal level to states had made the issue imperative. Political associates and rivals of the former governor of Lagos State and leader of the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, welcomed his call, urging that attention be given to actualizing the demand.
Tinubu’s anger with the Presidency started after the running mate to the party’s late governorship candidate, Prince Abubakar Audu, James Faleke, was subsequently replaced with the incumbent governor, Yahaya Bello.
