Ahmed Celebrates Nigerian Children, Congratulates Kwara Winners of Chanel TV Kid Soccer Competition

Kwara State Governor, Dr Abdulfatah Ahmed has urged parents to spend more time with their children and wards in order to ensure a better society and an assured future for the children.

In a message to commemorate this year’s Children’s Day, Governor Ahmed said the celebration reminds not only leaders at all levels of the need to prioritise the welfare of every Nigerian child but parents the need to spend more valuable time with children.

According to Gov Ahmed, “no nation can grow beyond the quality of its children who are potential leaders and experts in various fields of human endeavours”.

Dr Ahmed assured Kwarans that his administration would continue to formulate and implement policies that would be favourable to children in the state.

 

The Governor urged parents and guardians to bequeath quality education, moral and spiritual upbringing to their children and wards to make them useful citizens, saying that education remains free and compulsory for children in the state.

“My administration is resolute at improving the welfare of every child. Our Health Insurance Scheme is one of the ways we hope to guarantee quality lives for them”, Dr Ahmed said.

The Governor, expressed dismay over the growing cases of abuses meted out to children by some unscrupulous parents, guardians and caregivers, insisting that the government would not hesitate to prosecute erring individuals to serve as a deterrent to others.

Also, Kwara State Governor, Dr Abdulfatah Ahmed, has congratulated pupils of LGEA Central Primary School, Kaiama for winning the 10th Channels International Kids Cup on Sunday in Lagos.

The Governor in a statement by his Chief Press Secretary, Abdulwahab Oba, said the kids have once again shown his government’s investment and belief in the ability of its youth.

Governor Ahmed promised that his administration will continue to prioritize giving an opportunity to the youth through sports and providing conducive environment for learning.

“We will continue to invest in sports development because the sector is good enough to create jobs for our teeming youth”, the governor said.

“Our triumph at the International tournament has shown the spirit of a true Kwaran, who will excel by all legal means possible. Ours is a place of opportunities”, Dr Ahmed said.

The Governor promised to support the pupils so that others can learn from them the industrious nature of a Kwaran.

Kwara defeated Osun State 3-1 in the final of the 10th Channels International Kids Cup decided on Sunday in Lagos.

It would be recalled that Kwara kids from Burahanudeen LGEA Primary School, Ilorin were runners up in the 2017 edition of the tournament.
