Again, AbdulRazaq’s Commissioner Resigns In Controversial Circumstance

The former Commissioner for local government and chieftaincy affairs, Hajia Aisha Ahman Pategi, who was redeployed as Commissioner for Special Duties has again resigned her appointment from the cabinet of Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq.

In a Press Release made available to our correspondent dated 28th August, 2020, signed by her self, Pategi formally announced resignation as Commissioner for Special Duties effective from Friday, 28th August, 2020.

According to the release: “I, Aisha Ahman Pategi, the outgoing Hon. Commissioner for Special Duties, effective from today, Friday 28th August, 2020, humbly wish to formally announce my resignation from the cabinet of His Excellency, Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq.

 

“I wish to thank God Almighty for giving me the grace and opportunity to serve as Commissioner for Local Government and now exiting as Commissioner for Special Duties, serving my fellow Kwarans and  representing Pategi Local Government in our drive to better the lot of Kwarans.

 

“Life is in phases and I’m bold to say that having journeyed the political terrain with His Excellency, Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq, now is the time for me to leave and focus on new ideals.

 

“Going forward, my interest in Community Service and Grassroots’ Development will continue.

 

“Once again, I would like to thank Almighty Allah, the People of Patigi, Kwarans, our dear party APC and most of all, His Excellency for bringing me into politics. May Allah reward him and continue to be his guide as he pilots the affairs of our dear State.”

 

Before her resignation, the rumours making round was that Aisha Pategi had had tendered her resignation to protest her deployment from Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs to Special Duties, but the rumour was vehemently refuted in government circles.

The Commissioner’s resignation comes after a lingering controversy over funds from her commission being tampered with without her consent, a matter that spurred the Governor and the state House of Assembly to set up a committee to investigate claims and counter claims.

Aisha Ahman Pategi expressed her gratitude to the ruling All progressives Congress , APC and to His Excellency Governor AbdulRazaq AbdulRahman for the opportunity given her to serve the state in the capacity as commissioner.

Meanwhile, the government said it has received the resignation of Hon. Aishah Ahman-Pategi who was Commissioner for Special Duties accepts same wishing her the best in her future endeavours.

The acceptance was conveyed in a release from the office of the Hon. Commissioner for Communications,  Harriet Afolabi-Oshatimehin signed by herself also made available to our correspondent.
