ADP Rejects Kwara Council Poll Results

The Action Democratic Party (ADP) has rejected results of last Saturday’s local government elections of Edu local government area of kwara state declared by the State’s Independent Electoral Commission (KWASIEC).

Addressing journalists in Ilorin , the party’s candidate in the just concluded election in Edu local government chairman, Ambassador Muhammed Abubakar Muhammed, and Comrade Ajisafe respectively, alleged ‘‘irregularities, non -compliance of electoral laws, ballot stuffing and rigging.

They alleged that elections were not held in ward 1 and Ward 2 in Lafiagi which comprises 22 polling units due to the crisis that erupted in the areas but that KWSIEC declared APC candidates winner in the areas. 

‘‘At this point, we want to say we don’t accept result announced by KWSIEC.We are calling on President Mohammad Buhari to come and rescue us in Kwara State.What we had in Kwara state o Saturday was no election’’, said Muhammed.

Corroborating Mohammed’s claim,  the party’s chairman said results of elections declared at polling units showed that the ADP candidate won the election.

He said the party will also challenge the election results in court even as he called on electorates to always speak out against such any sharps practices to strengthen democracy.
