The Peoples Democratic Party in Ekiti State has described the defection of Prince Dayo Adeyeye as a desperation taken beyond right reasoning and a politics taken for selfish aggrandisement.
PDP says the defection would only vindicate the position of the Party that few gladiators in the party are really working against the interest of the positioning the party in the right course within .
In a release by the state publicity secretary of the party, Mr Jackson Adebayo, PDP maintained that if any aspirant in the just-concluded primary election in Ekiti state which has been adjudged to be clean, fair and credible decides to jump to another party, then much is to be desired.
Adebayo noted that with the all requests conceded to Prince Dayo Adeyeye from the local government Congress to the state primaries by the Ifeanyi Okowa led committee that conducted the primaries and Senator David Mark ward Congress committee to the appeal committee, Adeyeye had a sinister motive to destabilize the party from day one.
According to PDP, Adeyeye has proved that his ambitious tendencies has no respect for the unity of the party abinitio and the spirit of fair play that the reinvigorated PDP embraces .
To PDP, his defection is a good radiance to bad rubbish and a political journey to an oblivion because all the world can attest to the credibility , transparency and fairness of the PDP primaries in Ekiti state.
As the leader of the party in Ekiti state, PDP says, all efforts by Governor Ayo Fayose to advice Adeyeye not to venture into politics of calumny and recognition of the credibility of the primary election was met with rain of abuses and curses from him while openly assaulting party members with his thugs and miscreants.
As a party, PDP says ” we will not miss him and his cohorts in the opposition Party which he planted in our party for the purpose of destabilisation which has come to nought.
“We want to assure Ekiti people that our choice of Prof. Olubunmi Olusola Kolapo is the manifestation of sound reasoning and absolute patriotism to our fatherland.”
