The National President, National Association of Ogun State Students (NAOSS), Mr Oluwagbemileke  Ogunrombi has described the victory of the Ogun State Governor, Dapo Abiodun at the governorship election tribunal as a victory for students of the state.

Ogunrombi said this in a statement signed and made available to newsmen in Abuja on Saturday.

The national president who was  speaking on the victory of the Governor, commended the judiciary for prompt judgement stressing that the victory has reaffirmed, once more, that Abiodun’s mandate was the will of the good people of the Gateway State, especially students of the state studying home and abroad.

“Having dragged the Governor into this unjustifiable challenge, it has been judicially established that the mandate of our governor is the will of the good people of Gateway State.

“As obviously perceived in the State, Governor Dapo Abiodun has been up and doing touching all sector of the State and this reflected in his 100 days stewardship account as the governor of the state.

“As desired, he has been able to effect considerable development in all sectors of the state especially educational sector which concerns students the most.

” Take for instance normalcy that has been restored in Moshood Abiola Polytechnic (MAPOLY) even as the school is being plagued by status quo of a university.

“Another is the issue of Tai Solarin College of Education (TASCE), the efforts of the governor is commendable and being a leader of the indigenous students association we are pleased with these development.”

Ogunrombi added that the judicial victory was enough to eliminate and forestall any form of distraction and give the governor more time to focus on developing the state further.

It would be recalled that governorship candidate of the Allied People’s Movement, Adekunle Akinlade filed a petition against the victory of Abiodun following the declaration of Abiodun as winner of the March 9 poll.

However, after several sittings, the Ogun electoral tribunal today, Sept. 14 upheld Dapo Abiodun as victory in the governorship election.
