33 Years After, Social Media Reunites Old Students of Ataoja High School Set 84

It is a happy reunion as old students of Ataoja High School Osogbo set of 1984 were reunited in a group on whats app.

The convener Mr Razak Ayofe Oyebamiji, who was then the Senior Prefect reached out to old friends around like Hajia Tawakalitu Olaoye – Abdulsalam and Engr Dele Olaore, who recently retired from the Nigerian Breweries  to link him with others that they could link.

After a brillaint networking and with the dynamism of the social media, over twenty members are linked in a matter of few days and the number keep increasing by the day.

Asked why he brought up this idea, Oyebami Razak Ayofe explained that he remembered the good old days and  looking back at what it was in those days, he felt like there should be a convergence and perhaps  a flow of ideas as was in those good days for the betterment of individual members.

Oyabanji is an accomplished Civil engineer, a Chartered Civil Engineer, CEO of O’ Rays Engineering  Limited , a firm of Civil, Building and Structural Engineers incorporated since August 12, 2004 under the Company and Allied Matters Act 1990. O Rays website as indicated is www.oraysengineering.com

The set of 84 were the second set after the Pioneer set that came in to the then Urban Day Secondary School in 1979/80.

Urban day School, at inception occupied the old School of Nursing premises, Isale Aro, Osogbo and later moved to its permanent site at Gbongan – Ibadan express road when the name was changed in honour of the paramount Monarch of Osogbo the then late Iyiola Oyewale,  Matanmi II, Ataoja of Osogbo.

The School was then created by the late Chief Bola Ige regime in the Old Oyo state before Osun was carves out in 1992 by Babangida administration.

Today, Ataoja High School wears a new look under the administration of Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola, the APC governor in the state.

One thing is noteworthy about the High School called Ataoja, its royal attachment and class is always there. The school uniform at inception was royal blue and white and now the school is no less than a school higher that every other secondary school in its class.

It’s a thing of joy that even the writer is a product and member of the prestigious Ataoja High school, Osogbo in the state of Osun popularly known as State of the Living Spring and also as Omoluabi state.

Recently Osun osogbo festival was held in Osun an annual event that bring home all sons and daughters across the globe as well as adherents of Osun within and outside Nigeria.
